We came to the Smoky Mountains for our very first vacation ever and immediately fell in love. Fast forward many years, vacations, and a couple of kids later, and we were finally able to buy our dream home in the Smokies.
Thank you for staying with us! We hope you enjoy your time here as much as we do. In case you need some ideas, here are a few of our favorite things...
Favorite Things:
Minigolf - Hill Billy Golf - ride lift up the mountain, play hill billy theme mini golf, ride lift back down. Parking is limited.
Mountain Coaster - Goats on the Roof - less crowded, ride during the day, come back later, show ticket and get a discounted ride. Plenty of parking.
Hiking -
Laurel Falls Trail - beautiful hike, gorgeous waterfall, get there early it gets crowded, no bathroom. Parking is limited.
Little River Trail - nice flat hike running along the river, Elkmound Campground at the beginning with restored original houses were once a summer vacation destination, bathroom available by the houses. Use Elkmound Campground for GPS. Plenty of parking.
Spruce Flats Falls Trail - beautiful trail, gorgeous waterfall, off the beaten path, not crowded, bathroom available by the parking lot. Use Spruce Flats Falls Trailhead for GPS. Plenty of parking.
Restaurants -
Mellow Mushroom - holy shiitake pizza is fantastic
Taco Ranch - loaded nachos with chicken is amazing
J.T. Hannah's Kitchen - good casual American food
Moonshine Tasting - Junction 35 Kitchen & Bar - large store, easy to get samples, good selection
Ice Cream - Mad Dogs Creamery
Fudge Shops - all of them... we haven't met a fudge shop we didn't like :)
